Jeffrey Bernard - Jeffrey Bernard Is Still Unwell

Cult sports writer and gambler, Jeffrey Bernard wrote about the trots and the low life with brutal candour. He was mates with Francis Bacon and subject of a hit play starring Peter O’Toole. The title is reference to his habit of missing deadlines on account of hangovers. Bleak comedy in the manner of the best of the English, tho also made me think of Exley. High recommend for heavy drinkers and self destructive types.  Definitely not for everyone!
