Highest possible recommendation! 

I received both issues of Tendency from the publisher recently and was blown away by the quality of writing. This is one of those zines you read and spend hours following and digging up reference points... from black metal (and other remnants of the underground) to a history of streetfighting to Soviet punk to German romantic literature to French Oi! of the radical left... the breadth of content is impressive alone but what stands out is the depth of their insight and background knowledge.

You never get a sense of being "opined" to, where writer serves as judge or critic detailing their credentials or authority and telling you to wake up to the real deal. For this reason I count Tendency in the tradition of the best of music writing, a fellow traveller who shines the light on the path ahead to help you on your way. 

Tendency is a 36pp (including front/back cover) fanzine on underground music with an emphasis on black metal. The first issue features interviews with Marco del Rio (Raspberry Bulbs, Bone Awl), Russian black metal label Horrible Room, and the artist behind Blinding Sun and related projects, as well as record reviews and essays on aspects of underground subcultural history. Cut and paste layout and xerography.

This is the Australian printing. 50 copies, pro-printed, stamped and hand numbered with a thick cardstock cover.
